Day 19- Home

Up early this morning to catch the 7 am vaporetto to the airport.  It was still dark when we left the hotel and Venice was really quiet.   Glad we were not in a high crime neighborhood (at least we assumed we weren’t).  It was pretty with buildings lit up and no humans.
The only other place we’ve been where you can take a boat right to the airport was the BVI’s.  It is pretty cool.

We had a little issue at the place we left our tandem and other luggage.  We calculated so that we had just enough euros to pay for the storage, but when we got there, the attendant charged us double for the tandem.  Considering the storage area was almost empty and the tandem case was not really that big, we felt that we were getting ripped off, but we were over a barrel. Jeri had to go into the airport and find an ATM so we could get our belongings out of hock. I’m going to have to mention this to Trip Advisor.
The flights home were quite uneventful, and American Airlines was nice enough not to charge us extra for the bike.  Thankfully, there was no food poisoning on the trip home, and we were both able to enjoy 8 hours of movies.  Can’t even remember what we watched!
